Rainbow Red Room

red room

Our Red Room consists of three and four year olds who are full of inquisitive questions and the need to investigate the workings of their world. The curriculum in the three year old room is child centered and allows the children to learn about cause and effect and experiment with the how and why things are the way they are. The daily schedule consists of early morning free play, group meeting, story time, outdoor play, and learning centers including activities related to the following areas: art, science, creative thinking, math, construction, dramatic play, sensory, and fine motor. Cooperative play and appropriate social interactions are also strongly encouraged and modeled throughout the day.

Classroom Teacher

Ms. Karla is the Rainbow Red Classroom teacher. Ms. Karla received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood minor from Luther College in 1992. Since then she has taken Early Childhood classes at Technical Colleges, conference, etc. all over the state.

Over the last 20 years Ms. Karla has worked at Childcare Centers in Cottage Grove, La Crosse, Eau Claire, and now in Black River Falls. At the various centers she has worked with children from infant through school-age. She has also cared for children in her home. Ms. Karla started at Black River Child Care Center in January of 2010.

Ms. Karla chose to work with children because she is continuously amazed by how they learn and develop. She feels her job is to help them reach that next step of their development in a safe and caring environment.
